0 <br />e The Greater South Bend Housing Corporation <br />has requested that the Commission sign the agreements <br />of purchase of certain properties in LaSalle Park Urban <br />Renewal Project. The executed purchase agreement is <br />needed prior to the Greater South Bend Housing Corpora- <br />tion entering into contract for the construction of <br />150 units of rent supplement housing. Mr. Bruce C. <br />Hamme schmidt, Legal Counsel, stated that the Presi- <br />dent and Secretary can be authorized to execute the <br />document. On motion by Mr. Kompar, seconded by Mr. <br />Helme , authorization was granted for President Wiggins <br />and C mmissioner Chenney to sign the subject documents. <br />7. PROGRESS <br />a The Commission was apprised that the staff <br />is pr paring the documents for the second offer of <br />sale f land in LaSalle Park Urban Renewal Project. <br />b. In answer to question raised by Commissioner <br />Kompar, Mr. Bellinger stated that construction of dwell- <br />ings inust begin within approximately one year of the <br />succe sful purchase of land by a contractor. There <br />currently are 12 new homes under construction in the <br />LaSal e Park Urban Renewal Project. <br />PURCHASE AGREEMENT, <br />GREATER SOUTH BEND <br />HOUSING CORPORA SON, <br />LASALLE PARK URBAN <br />RENEWAL PROJECT, <br />R -57 <br />PROGRESS REPORTS <br />c In answer to a question raised by Marchmont <br />Koval President Wiggins stated that the suit is still <br />pendi g, which has been filed by the NAACP against <br />the C ntral Downtown Urban Renewal Project. The Commission <br />is ho eful that the matter will be resolved in the near <br />futur Mr. Wiggins stated that the suit puts the exe- <br />cutio date for the Central Downtown Urban Renewal Pro- <br />ject 'n question. <br />8.
