The <br />R -56 <br />office is primarily <br />for relocation purposes, and <br />is large e- <br />nough to holo <br />meetings. <br />5. PROGRESSI REPORTS <br />Relocati n activities for Industrial Expansion Project, RELOCATION ACTI- <br />R-56 and LaSalle Park Project R -57. Mr. Scott reported that VITIES <br />he has spent many hours in the Industrial Expansion Project <br />area.trying to create a better climate because of a meeting <br />held in the area by the Legal Aid Society in connection with <br />price offers to property owners by the Redevelopment Depart- <br />ment. A meeting is called by the Redevelopment Staff for Fri- <br />day, August 2, 1968, in conjunction with an.Open House at the <br />new site office located at 1406 1/2 Kemble Street, to possibly <br />counteract any wrong information which might have been given <br />previously. Mr. Scott reported that the Departmert -will be <br />entering intD a relocation program to service families dis- <br />placed by City action, such as Code Enforcement. This action <br />is in response to Workable Program deficiencies. The Leased <br />Housing Program is not working effectively for urban renewal <br />residents as it was expected. To date only two families <br />have been re Located by means of the Leased Housing Program <br />and approximately 45 homes have been secured for the Housing <br />Authority under this program. With this in mind, the Commis- <br />sion asked tie Redevelopment staff and attorney to investi- <br />gate the pos ibility of assuming and controlling the Leased <br />Housing.Prog am and to report back to the Commission as soon <br />as possible. <br />The next regular meeting of the Redevelopment Commission NEXT MEETING <br />will be at l :30 A.
