<br />c. Engineering Services Contract, LaSalle Park, R -57. The Chas. W.ENGINEERING
<br />Cole Company reports that the topographical survey is finished, approxi- PROGRESS REPORT,
<br />mately 30 sheets of street plans have been drawn, and;the.soil data has.LASALLE PARK,
<br />been reviewe and analyzed, and.that,a detailed soil analysis be R -57
<br />contracted for. The engineers have secured a proposal for additional
<br />soil borings and analysis at a cost of $4,100, and the staff suggested
<br />at least one additional proposal. The - engineers also have analyzed the
<br />sewerage system, and reports that to separate the storm and sanitary
<br />sewers it would cost at this time approximately $330,000.
<br />d. Rehabilitation "before and after" Photographe, LaSalle Park,R- 57_._REHABILITATION
<br />It is necessary for the staff to keep good records of the inside and PHOTOGRAPHS,
<br />outside building conditions, and since the staff if not equipped to LASALLE PARK,
<br />complete this work, proposals have been solicited and received for R -57
<br />50 buildings, 2 inside photos and 1 outside photo. To date, -the propo-
<br />sals range from $450 to $300. The staff will akk for Commission
<br />action on this matter at a later date.
<br />e. Fires, LaSalle Park, R -5,7. The staff has been disturbed FIRES, LASALLE
<br />because of the number of fires in the LaSalle Park Project area. PARK R -57
<br />Therefore, letters have been sent to all people who have not yet sold
<br />their property to the.Redevelopment Department, notifying them that
<br />Chief McHenry of the South Bend Fire Department, and the-Redevelopment
<br />Department, will advise the residents on what precautiors could be
<br />taken to avoid fires. This letter was sent out for the protection
<br />of the residents, and also to explain that payment to owners might
<br />be cut down beft8e of fire damage.
<br />f. Parcels for Condemnation, LaSalle Park,R -57. The staff has PARCELS FOR POS-
<br />prepared a list of 10 parcels for condemnation, and must now consult SIBLE CONDEMNA-LL
<br />with legal counsel before coming to the Commission for action. These eT0N, LASALLE
<br />people have told the Redevelopment Department they want us to condemn, PARK, R657
<br />or that they are not going to sell. -
