The City of South Bend, in St. Joseph County, <br />State of Indiana, acting for and on behalf of the <br />South Bend Redevelopment District (which District <br />includes all of the territory within the corporation <br />boundaries of the City of South Bend) for value <br />received, hereby promises to pay to the bearer <br />hereof, solely out of a special tax to be levied <br />upon all of the property within the South Bend <br />Redevelopment District, the principal amount of <br />FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS <br />on the first day of January, 1969, and to pay <br />interest thereon, solely out of the said special <br />tax, from the date hereof until the principal is <br />paid, at the rate of per cent ( %) <br />per annum, which interest is payable January 1, 1968, _ <br />and semi- annually thereafter on January land July 1 <br />of each year, upon presentation and surrender of <br />the annexed interest coupons as they severally become <br />due. <br />Both principal and interest of this bond are <br />payable in lawful money of the United States of <br />America at the American Bank and Trust Company, <br />South Bend, Indiana. <br />This bond is one of an authorized issue of <br />One Hundred.Thirty -six (136) bonds of like date and <br />tenor, except as to numbering and dates of maturity, <br />in the total amount of Six Hundred Eighty Thousand <br />Dollars ($680,000), issued by the South Bend <br />Redevelopment District pursuant to a resolution <br />adopted by the South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />on October 5, 1966, and in strict compliance <br />with Chapter 176 of the Acts of 1953, as <br />supplemented by Chapter 187 of the Acts of 1955, <br />and Chapter 318 of the Acts of 1963, for the <br />purpose of providing funds to pay the cost of <br />acquisition, clearance, rehabilitation, site <br />improvement, and renewal of property described <br />in Resolution No, 118, adopted by the South Bend <br />Redevelopment Commission on January 3, 1966, and <br />all expenses necessarily incurred in connection <br />with said proceedings, <br />XERO XERO <br />
