The City of South Bend, in St. Joseph County, State of Indiana, acting for and on behalf of the South Bend Redevelopment District (which District includes all of the territory within the corporation boundaries of the City of South Bend) for value received, hereby promises to pay to the bearer hereof, solely out of a special tax to be levied upon all of the property within the South Bend Redevelopment District, the principal amount of FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS on the first day of January, 1969, and to pay interest thereon, solely out of the said special tax, from the date hereof until the principal is paid, at the rate of per cent ( %) per annum, which interest is payable January 1, 1968, _ and semi- annually thereafter on January land July 1 of each year, upon presentation and surrender of the annexed interest coupons as they severally become due. Both principal and interest of this bond are payable in lawful money of the United States of America at the American Bank and Trust Company, South Bend, Indiana. This bond is one of an authorized issue of One Hundred.Thirty -six (136) bonds of like date and tenor, except as to numbering and dates of maturity, in the total amount of Six Hundred Eighty Thousand Dollars ($680,000), issued by the South Bend Redevelopment District pursuant to a resolution adopted by the South Bend Redevelopment Commission on October 5, 1966, and in strict compliance with Chapter 176 of the Acts of 1953, as supplemented by Chapter 187 of the Acts of 1955, and Chapter 318 of the Acts of 1963, for the purpose of providing funds to pay the cost of acquisition, clearance, rehabilitation, site improvement, and renewal of property described in Resolution No, 118, adopted by the South Bend Redevelopment Commission on January 3, 1966, and all expenses necessarily incurred in connection with said proceedings, XERO XERO
