PROGRESfi REPORTS <br />INTEREST EARNED <br />ON SHORT TERM <br />LOANS <br />COUNTY -CITY <br />BUILDING OFFICE <br />SPACE <br />INVESTMENT FOR <br />60 DAYS, R -29 <br />A. LaSalle Park Project, R -57. The Commission signed the - LASALLE PARK <br />Loan and Grant Contract and is awaiting Chicago DHUD execu- R -57 <br />tion. A pr liminary overall schedule of operation will be <br />drafted by he next regular Commission meeting. The Reloca- <br />tion Director has resurveyed the entire area in order to com- <br />plete data necessary-to formulate the overall schedule for <br />operation. The survey is of a confidential nature, listing <br />names of families and their income, but a summary sheet of this <br />survey is available to anyone. This survey will help to estab- <br />lish a priority list for rehabilitation. Mr. Maxwell has con- <br />tacted a to al of 103 families of the 300 homes scheduled for <br />rehabilitation. All of the 103 families are very cooperative <br />and want to rehabilitate. In cr der to establish a rehabilita- <br />tion schedule, the staff must determine three things: (1) will- <br />ingness to rehabilitate; (2) financial ability to rehabilitate; <br />and (3)=personal ability owners have to do own work.:- The ten <br />tative determination of the Redevelopment Department staff at <br />this time is that the northeast corner of the LaSalle Park <br />Project, along with the west side of the project, appear to <br />be the areas for priority, but not to the neglect of specific <br />requests fr m families in another area of the project.
