Mr. Bra emas explained the relocation report and the anticipation of the use of rent subsidy funds when they become available. The report substantiates adequate housing to relocate necessary families. The FHA 221(d)3 program will provide approximately 500 additional dwelling units, to be built by the Layman LaSalle Park Homes, Inc., a non -p ofit corporation. Additional data from the Local Housing Authori y to accept families from the Project area are necessary. Mr. Mor is raised the question of what the alternative plan would be for LaSalle Park should the rent supplement progtam fail to pass le illation. The answer was that public housing units can accommodate the more needy and large families except for one family requiri g a 5 bedroom unit. It was suggested that other inquiries and ans ers be reduced to writing to avoid misunderstanding. The Redevel pment Commission will work for the best interest of the whole c mmunity. Mr. Mor is repeated the points covered in the Urban League letter of Octo er 29, 1965, which was read by the Staff to the Commission, and other items relating to intergroup relations and sub- committee on mino ity housing group problems. It was reported that the Staff will be arranging for a meeting with the Chicago Intergroup Relations Officer and that the Sub - Committee on Minority Group Housing Problems has bee appointed and an organizational meeting is being programed. Mrs. Br die explained the method used to keep LaSalle Park residents inform& of meetings. The method has proven effective, except for one time when the Tribune failed to print the notice. The Commission was informed also by Mrs. Brodie that another LaSalle Park meeting is set lor November 15, 1965, at Layman Chapel on Kenmore Street, at 7:30 p. m. The nex regular Commission meeting will be held November 18, 1965, NEXT 10:30 a. m., in the office of the Redevelopment Department. MEETING 7.
