We agree to make this change to the plans and to conform with your
request.
Please let me know if this change is satisfactory.
Best regards,
Jim Richardson
From: Elicia Feasel <efeasel@southbendin.gov>
Sent: Tuesday, October 8, 2019 12:06 PM
To: Jim Richardson <jerichardsonjr@icloud.com>; 'Elizabeth Sternke' <esternke@gmail.com>
Cc: 'Marcia Kovas' <mkovas@sbcsc.k12.in.us>
Subject: RE: proposed changes to 536 River Avenue property
That is understandable, thank you. I’ve just received your completed Certificate of Appropriateness application from
Michelle and will process the Staff Report. If the 15’ of chain link fence at the east side of house could be exchanged for
wood, I would feel comfortable Administratively Approving the project, including the resin shed and chain link at the
drive. Otherwise, the COA application will be included on the October 21 Historic Preservation Commission meeting
agenda beginning at 5:30 pm in the County – City Building, 13th floor conference room.
From: Jim Richardson <jerichardsonjr@icloud.com>
Sent: Tuesday, October 8, 2019 11:12 AM
To: Elicia Feasel <efeasel@southbendin.gov>; 'Elizabeth Sternke' <esternke@gmail.com>
Cc: 'Marcia Kovas' <mkovas@sbcsc.k12.in.us>; 'Jim Richardson' <jerichardsonjr@icloud.com>
Subject: RE: proposed changes to 536 River Avenue property
Good morning Ms. Feasel,
When we rented this property (beginning July 2019), we agreed that we would rent it “as is”, only asking for
maintenance and upkeep from the property owners as necessary. Any changes or additions would thus be funded by us,
the tenants. My wife and myself recently decided that we would like to add a backyard fence for our dog and a storage
shed for our lawn equipment, and I have offered to invest about $2300 in backyard improvements in order to make this
happen, improvements that we will only enjoy for as long as we rent the property. As this is not our property, we must
be as pragmatic as possible about how much we, the tenants, spend on this upgrade. We have therefore selected
