<br />a. The C mmission voted to approve the execution of the Chapin
<br />Street Site I provement Documents, R -29, for work to be performed
<br />under Divisiol I, Part A in the amount of $156,921.55, and Divi-
<br />sion II in tha amount of $269,207.05, awarded to the Reith -Riley
<br />Construction ompany, Inc. upon the motion by Mr. Kompar, seconded
<br />by Rev. Kirk. Legal attorney, Bruce C. Hammerschmidt, has found
<br />the documents to be in order.
<br />b. Bid o ening for the Water Taps Site Improvements in the
<br />LaSalle Park roject, R -57, was held on August 14, 1967. Six bids
<br />were received. Upon staff recommendation, the Commission awarded
<br />this contract to the low bidder, 0. J. Shoemaker,.Inc. of South
<br />Bend, i*n the mount of $9,853, after Chicago DHUD concurrence,
<br />on the motion by Rev. Kirk, seconded by Mr. Kompar.
<br />.c. Bids or the remainder of the Site Improvements for the
<br />LaSalle Park roject, R -57, i. e. street excavation, street sur-
<br />facing, sidew lks, curbs, gutters, and sewers, were opened on
<br />August 15, 19 7. Upon recommendation of Engineers, Chas. W. Cole
<br />and Sons, and because the bids were above Engineer's Estimates, the
<br />Commission voted to readvertise for these site improvements, subject
<br />to Chicago DHUD concurrence, on the motion by Mr. Chenney, seconded
<br />by Rev. Kirk.
<br />d. The C mmission approved the staff's request to attempt to
<br />have waived tie federal requirement whereby relocation claims must
<br />be submitted qithin six months from date of move, for a particular
<br />case involvin3 Parcel 27 -3, LaSalle Park Project, R -57, upon motion
<br />by Mr., Kompar, seconded by Mr. Chenney. The claimant moved himself
<br />eight months ago and under normal relocation benefits he would be
<br />entitled to $54.00. The claimant states that he did not fully under -
<br />stand federal requirements for relocation payment.

<br />ficate of Com letion for South Bend Lathe, Parcel 6, Sample Street
<br />Project, R -7, upon motion by Mr. Chenney, seconded by Rev. Kirk.
<br />This Certificate is accompanied by an Affidavit prepared by
<br />Mr. Hammersch idt verifying that final inspection of the parcel
<br />indicated all improvements are in compliance with the urban
<br />renewal plan 4nd permits the return of the good faith money.
