VI. OTHER BUSINESS <br />Mrs. Curtis extended an invitation to each of the Trustees to attend a <br />meeting on Thursday, December 14, 1967 at 8:00 P. M. at the City Council <br />Chambers, in which representatives of the Notre Dame Social Science <br />Training and Research Laboratory will report on the recently completed <br />City-wide Housing Study. This study was made possible by the Redevelop- <br />ment Co*ission-and will provide a stepping stone to finding solutions <br />for the ousing needs of South Bend. <br />Also in connection with South Bend housing needs, Mrs. Curtis requested <br />that the staff supply each of the Trustees with a copy of the tables <br />showing the projected housing needs for families and individuals who are <br />to be relocated from the cityls urban renewal projects. <br />In answer to the question as to what programs South Bend has in order to <br />meet the housing needs, it was reported that the following action has been <br />taken. (1) Approval for The Greater South Bend Housing Corporation to <br />build housing for the middle low income group; (2) Leased Housing Program <br />to meet the needs of large, low income groups; and (3) The Turn Key Pro- <br />gram whereby homes are built by private enterprise - for the federal govern- <br />ment and the key is turned over to a public office, such as the Housing <br />Authorit , for property management.
