The local Housing Authority has asked the <br />Rede-velopment- Commission for a guarantee of the--deposit <br />for, entry into the Housing Authority for the Nyoka <br />Greea family living in the LaSalle Park Urban Renewal <br />Project, R-57, Parcel 9-19. The c6mmission had pre- <br />viously made such an agreement for two other families, <br />and, each family is expected to repay the Redevelopment <br />Commission when their financial situation allows repay- <br />ment. Therefore, it was moved by Mr. Kompar, seconded <br />by Rev. Kirk and approved by the,.'Commission, that $50 <br />be advanced for this one additional family with the <br />understanding that repayment is forthcoming. <br />6. PROGRESS REPORTS <br />,a. Industrial Expansion Pry R-56. The second <br />and third reuse and acquisition appraisal reports are <br />completed, and are now in process of staff evaluation. <br />The staff is now documenting the Part II requirements, <br />and ill be ready for submission to the Chicago office <br />in Bbout two weeks. LaSalle Park Project, R-57. The excavation <br />sewer contractors are making satisfactory pro- <br />s with the site improvements work. The residents <br />to be commended for enduring so well the incon- <br />ence of muddy conditions and torn up streets. The <br />ractors also deserve credit for diligently pur- <br />.g each complaint to the satisfaction of the staff. <br />Kirk expressed appreciation for the contractorts <br />!nt statement that working in the project area had <br />ented no problems along the lines of vandalism of <br />r equipment or damage to materials, which is <br />GUARANTEE OF <br />HOUSING AUTHOR- <br />ITY DEPOSIT FOR <br />ONE FAMILY, <br />PARCEL 9-191 <br />LASALLE PARK, <br />R-57 <br />INDUSTRIAL EX- <br />PANSION PROJECT, <br />R-56 <br />LASALLE ]ARK <br />PROJECT, R-57 <br />ival for this kind of work. Mr. Wiggins said this-,was <br />.cative to the fact that South Berid has the coop- <br />-ion of the people in LaSalle Park, and that the <br />►le are now convinced that the project is going to <br />;uccessful, and they can see something actually <br />ig done. <br />c. Central Downtown Project, R-66. As -reported <br />,iously, the planning has been completed, and the <br />I Application has now been submitted to the fed- <br />office in Chicago. The federal review will take <br />!ral weeks. Extra copies-,of the Part I Application <br />expected to be availalbe soon, and will be for <br />:ribution to the Redevelopment Commission with addi- <br />ial copies available on a loan basis.
