PROGRESIS REPORTS <br />a. Central Downtown Project, R-56. -This morning at the Ind- <br />iana Club the 1-1ayor Performed the official unveilin-, of the scale <br />model of South Bend after completion of the urban renewal project. <br />Upon Chicago HUD off-ice concurrence that the application has been <br />forwarded to Washington, the LPA could begin acquiring formal <br />local approyals. This could require about two and a half months, <br />after which a public hearing schedule will require approximately <br />30 days. <br />b. Ind aserial -Ex pansion Project, R-56. Chicago HUD concur- <br />rence has baen received in the acquisition prices for all parcels <br />in the proj2!ct area. The Part II documentation has subsequently <br />been forwarJed to I-IUD. The staff is hopeful of receiving the <br />Loan and Grint Contract documents in the near future, after which <br />acquisition can begin. However, limited early land acquisition <br />C) <br />--night be depirable,-and is possible upon Commission approval. <br />c. LaSalle Park Project, R-57. The Amendatory Part II Appli- <br />cation has been sent to HUD Chicago, and approval is necessary be- <br />Fore acquisition of-additional properties. Of the present acqui- <br />sition list, 95% has been acquire(l, and the Amendatory Application <br />permits the acquisition of additional properties, if needed.
