The Cox <br />Officer <br />which ix <br />r e c omn <br />annual <br />discuss <br />ne s s of <br />Commi <br />meeting <br />of the C <br />of resu <br />,mission discussed Staff engagement of a full -time Disposition <br />;o handle real estate transactions for the Sample Street Project, R -7, <br />volves the sale of some twenty (20) acres of vacant land. The Staff <br />ended that a full -time person be put on'for the balance of 1965 at the <br />alary rate of $7, 200 or $1, 800 for three (3) months. There was some <br />on as to the need of a full -time Disposition Officer and the attractive - <br />the salary to engage experienced real estate applicants. The <br />sion deferred action on engagement of a Disposition Officer pending <br />of representatives of the Commission and Staff with representatives <br />ommittee of One Hundred and the Chamber of Commerce and reporting <br />is of the meeting. <br />This meting was approved on motion of Mr. Louis and second by Mr'. Kompar. <br />The Staff reported receipt of two (2) bid proposals to renovate the B. G. <br />Smith Community Center in the LaSalle Park Project area, R -57, for use by <br />the Relocation and Rehabilitation Staff. The bids were for $238 and $317, work <br />to include interior painting of the Center, the installation of protective screens <br />on the outside of all windows, the changing of four (4) locks, and the hanging <br />of two (2) doors. The Staff also reported the needfor telephone installation <br />and the purchase of a small water heater for the building. On the motion of <br />Mr. L uis and the second of Mr. Helmen, the Commission voted for the lease <br />of the B. G. Smith Community Center from the Park Department for $1.00 <br />a year ith option to renew, stipulating that the Redevelopment Commission <br />maintain the building and the front lawn and -that expenditures in the amount <br />of $238 for general renovation, . the installation of telephone service, and the <br />purcha e of a water heater not to exceed $80 in cost, be approved. <br />The Cc <br />Mr. Kc <br />office < <br />Octobe <br />the UR <br />and Gr <br />On <br />mission approved a motion made by Mr. Louis and seconded by <br />par, that the next regular commission meeting will be in the <br />the Redevelopment Department on Wednesday at 10:30 A.M. , <br />6, 1965, in lieu of the following day.
