Il.. din:PVP. III TIISII;:
Over the last 50 years, our staff
has provided construction in-
spection services on more than
175 INDOT/LPA projects, includ-
ing 55 in the LaPorte District
District. We have the technical
expertise and understanding
of the District's requirements
for materials, testing, EEO, and
final construction records. Our
inspectors have developed an
impressive set of technical capa-
bilities that allows them to docu-
ment all the daily work tasks per-
formed at the job site. Our staff
will use their technical expertise
on this project to:
• Track and document
construction material
quantities
• Test and sample materials
used
• Review daily maintenance
of traffic
• Address all concerns
for safety
• Maintain project accounting
and contractor payrolls
I IF li my , I E P4 C'Y
The construction process can
take a considerable amount of
time, which is why keeping an
eye on efficiency throughout the
entire project is so important.
To complete the construction
phase of this project in the most
efficient manner possible, our in-
spection team will:
Make timely and
knowledgeable decisions
Quickly evaluate
immediate/long-term
effects of our decisions
• Coordinate among
all parties through
transparency,
communication, and
fairness
Quickly complete required
project closeout activities
• Prepare/submit final
construction record within
45 days of contractor's
relieved -of -maintenance
date
Our team is equipped with the
most up-to-date testing equip-
ment, including 13 DCPs and six
LWDs, to provide the highest lev-
el of service.
Dynamic cone penetration
(DCP) testing is used to
measure the strength of in -
situ soil and the thickness
and location of subsurface
soil layers. DCP results
verify subgrade stability.
• Light weight deflectometer
(LWD) is a device that
measures the deflection
from a failing weight and
estimates the modulus.
LWD results tell inspectors
if material is suitable,
or if it is loose or poorly
compacted.
