IPROGRESS REPORT <br />On motion made by Mr. Helmen, seconded by Mr, Williams SUPPLEMEN- <br />and unanimously carried, the Commission approved a TARY BLAIR <br />supplement to the Feasibility Survey Contract with & STEIN <br />Blair & Stein Associates to cover additional work for CONTRACT <br />the C astral Area at a fee of $2,000. <br />Mr. Sucher <br />proposed to the <br />Commission that a Community <br />COMMUNITY <br />Renewal <br />Program be started <br />within the next few months,. <br />RENEWAL <br />This would <br />be a long -range <br />plan for urban renewal in <br />PROGRAM <br />the C'ty of South Bend. The Commission requested that <br />Mr. Slicher give them a detailed written report as to the <br />vroarclu and the benefits to be derived therefrom. <br />Mr. B er informed the Commission that there are six ACQUISITION <br />remai ing properties in the Sample Street Indiana R--7 REPORT <br />area let to be acquired either by direct purchase or <br />court action. <br />The Commission was informed of the progress of the FEASIBILITY <br />Feasibility Survey, as reported by Blair & Stein SURVEY <br />Associates and Hammer & Company Associates at a meet- REPORT <br />ing April 26, 1963, at the Oliver Hotel, by Mr. Sucher. <br />-3- <br />
