Place, President, Committee of 100
Mr. Kromkowski stated that at the recommendation of the South Bend
Redevelopment Trustees this meeting was called to explore the
possibility of providing inducements for industry for the purpose
of a tracting them into the Sample Street Redevelopment Project
(Inn rbelt industrial Park).
Mr. ucher explained that to date land has been sold to one indus-
try; there is another prospective buyer; and five or six indefinite
inquiries have been received regarding this land.
He a so stated there was concern that all attractive frontage might
be s ld leaving some land without street access in the rear.
The dea was proposed that a certain area be designated for smaller
type industry thereby not obstructing the bigger parcels.
Mr. Fagel suggested that trucking companies be contacted in the
West Sample Street neighborhood, advising them that this land is
available and that it would be to their advantage to help us attract
industries into the area, since they could then serve them.
The
uggestion was also made that an area should be set aside for
tial investors for future development.
-1-
