IV. <br />ROGRESS REPORT <br />Mr. Sucher reported to the Commission that inasmuch as PARCEL <br />the cwner of Parcel #13 -11 in the Sample Street Project ##13 -11 <br />Area has not let any member of the Redevelopment Depart- <br />ment nor the Appraisers into the premises, the Redevelop- <br />ment Department proposes to take the minimum appraisal <br />made from outside and send a registered letter to the <br />owne offering that amount. This was approved by the <br />Commission. <br />Mr, Eielicki, Relocation Supervisor, proposed a rent RENT <br />reduction on Parcel ##2 -11 from $35 to $10. This is due REDUCTION <br />to the fact that the property, which was formerly a PARCEL <br />grocery store, is no longer occupied but is used to <br />store equipment until the owner disposes of it, which <br />show d be about a month. The Commission granted the <br />rent reduction on this parcel. <br />Mr. Bielicki also reported that as of the end of December RELOCATION <br />217 families have been relocated. A survey of the struc- DEPARTMENT <br />tures which have not yet been acquired revealed 51 fami- <br />lies, 21 businesses and 42 individuals. Current workload: <br />11 families (6 singles, 5 commercials). 135 families <br />relocated into standard sales housing; rental housing <br />total is 55; away from City total of 19. <br />Mr. O. C. Denniston, Denniston Realty Co., appeared be- <br />fore the Commission and requested a rent increase for <br />the space now occupied by the South Bend Redevelopment <br />Commission, 129 W. Colfax St., from $270 to $295 per <br />month.
