Upon mo ion made by Mr. Williams, seconded by Mr. Place and unani- <br />mously �arried, claims for payment totaling $39,083.52 were endorsed <br />by the ommission. <br />IV. PROGRESS REPORT <br />Mr. Sucher requested the Commission to approve the REQUEST FOR <br />issuance of loan notes on a six—month basis. The extra ISSUANCE OF <br />money i needed at the present time for Sample Street LOAN NOTES <br />Project expenses, primarily real- estate purchases. <br />The Conniission is operating within the estimated budget <br />and the loan will be repaid when land is sold in the <br />project area. <br />All fads and figures will be prepared and presented to <br />the Co fission at the next regular meeting. <br />The pro Tess of the Interstate Demolition Corporation INTERSTATE <br />is a little behind the schedule called for in the DEMOLITION <br />contract. It was suggested by Mr. Frederick K. Baer, CORPORATION <br />staff attorney, that the Demolition Corporation be PROGRESS <br />remindel of its obligations under the contract. <br />There have been seven applicants for the job of APPLICANTS <br />Assistant Director, five of whom appear to be reason— FOR JOB OF <br />ably qualified. The Commission suggested that the ASST. DIR. <br />Personnel Committee review the applications. <br />Permission was asked of the Commission by Mr. Baer 'SUIT AGAINST <br />to drop an eviction and lack of payment suit against MR. 0. BRYANT <br />Mr. 011ie Bryant. Mr. Bryant has purchased another <br />home and has agreed to pay the back rent he owes the <br />commissi n. The Commissioners consented to the dropping <br />of the s it, providing Mr. Bryant lives up to the stated <br />obligati ns. <br />Mr. Morris and Mrs. Curtis expressed their concern LACK OF <br />over the lack of housing available<for, minority HOUSING FOR <br />groups and large families. 'Their it n concern is the MINORITY <br />number of these problem families that will be displaced GROUPS <br />by the Chapin Street Project. <br />It was s ggested that non — profit organizations either <br />build or pur-hase several dwellings and lease them to <br />these pr blem families on a non— profit basis. The Committee <br />on Minor'ty Housing Problems is contacting a number of groups. <br />
