RESOLUTION NO. 31 <br />ON OF THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION, GOVERNING <br />BODY OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT, <br />THE UNDERTAKING OF SURVEYS AND PLANS FOR THE CHAPIN <br />STREE9I URBAN RENEWAL PROJECT ON A THREE - FOURTHS CAPITAL GRANT <br />BASISIAND THE FILING OF THE REQUEST FOR CONCURRENCE BY THE <br />ADMINISTRATOR IN COMMENCEMENT THEREOF. <br />under Title I of the Housing Act of 1949, as amended, <br />the Housing and Home Finance Administrator is authorized to extend <br />financial assistance to local public agencies in the elimination <br />and prevention of the spread of their slums and urban blight <br />through the undertaking of urban renewal-projects; and <br />JI it is desirable and in the public interest that the <br />City of South Bend, Department of Redevelopment prepare surveys <br />and plans, in order to undertake and carry out an urban renewal <br />project on a three - fourths capital grant basis pursuant to Title I <br />in that area proposed as an Urban Renewal Area, situated in the <br />City Of South Bend, County of St. Joseph, and State of Indiana, <br />whichlis described as follows: <br />ginning at the intersection of the westerly right of <br />y line of Laurel Street and the northerly right of <br />y line of Western Ave. <br />ence in an easterly direction along the northerly <br />ght of way line of Western Ave. to the intersection <br />th the westerly right of way line of Scott St. <br />ence in a northerly direction along the westerly <br />ght of way line of Scott St. to the intersection <br />th the extended property line 130'± north of <br />stern Ave. <br />hence in an easterly direction along the extended <br />roperty line 130'+ north of Western Ave. to the <br />atersection with easterly right of way line of the <br />irst alley west of Scott St. <br />-1- <br />T 121 <br />
