III. ®rricz KWURH"M Elie T Bids received from the Royal -McBee Corporation and International BILLSiness Machines Corporation were presented to the Commission for their decision on the purchase of a Standard Electric Typewriter for use in the newly established office of the Bookkeeper. On motion made by Mr. Place, seconded by Mr. Williams, the Com- mission unanimously decided to award the purchase of the 17" Stand- ard IBM Electric Typewriter at the quoted price of $429. 10 to the International Business Machines Corporation. (CdD1FA9I`RACC7f A'lrT®1Rifi ky AE a next matter of business, the Commissioners proceeded to a discussion pertaining to the employment of an attorney to handle all co tractual matters of the Commission. Mr. Sucher advised that the services of an attorney were necessary to handle all legal matters in- volving the acquisition of the parcels of land in the Sample Street area, leasing contracts, title examination, demolition contracts and bond issue. Af�er a full- discussion thereof and on motion duly made, seconded, and un nimously passed it was RESOLVED that Frederick K. Baer be and he is hereby employed as contract attorney' of the Sample Street Re- newal Project to handle all legal matters involved in the acquisition of the parcels of real estate, title examina- tion, Teases, demolition contracts, bond issue, and such other services as maybe required. Fees to be based on the Schedule of Fees published by the St. Joseph County Bar Association, which - schedule became effective January 1, 1960. Further RESOLVED that a copy of said Schedule of Fees be made a part of these minutes.
