Net p oject cost would be in the neighborhood of $ 4 1/4 million. The city's
share, after deducting the school credit, should be about $1 million.
After a discussion of the two proposed projects, Mr. Louis made a motion
that the resolution designating the Linden School Area as the next Urban Re-
newal area and applying for a federal planning :advance in the amount of
$ 1011 780 be approved. Mr. Williams seconded the motion. It was un-
animously carried. The Linden School Project Area will be submitted to
the council at the first possible meeting.
(3) PISCUSSION OF DELIQUENT APPRAISALS
It was brought to the attention of the Board that the biggest share of the ap-
praisals for the Sample Street Area have not been turned in to the Commis-
sion. Mr. Helmen suggested that Fred Baer compose a letter, for his sig-
nature, to the Appraisers stating that: They have breeched the contracts,
and a king them to notify us by November 11 of the exact date on which the
appra sals will be finished.
This vas approved by unanimous consent of the Board
(4) IROGRESS ON COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
It was reported that three of the four required Comprehensive Plan elements
are essentially completed. It was suggested that a deadline for the comple-
tion of the Capital Improvement Report, which is the only remaining element,
be set for the first of the year. The Urban Renewal Administration is anxious
for thp completion of this report.
(5) COMMISSIONERS MEETING HELD TWICE MONTHLY
Because of the number and importance of decisions required in the near future,
it was suggested that the Commissioners meet twice monthly. This would be
the first and third Thursday of every month at 11:00. A motion was made, sec-
onded and unanimously carried to amend the by -laws, effective immediately, to
provi a for regular Commissioners meftings on the first and third Thursday of
each r1nonth at 11:00 A.M. local time.
(6)
A sug
a forr
broug
man's
VEL INSURANCE
estion was made that the Commissioners, staff & Trustees should have
. of travel insurance, when making trips for the Commission.
