However, it includes a very comprehensive program <br />on urban renewal alone, and would be worthwhile for attendance. It is to be held <br />in San Francisco on October 12 - thru - October 15. <br />Mr. Koc an presented his view stating he thought Mr. Sucher should attend since <br />he was the Director, and his attendance would prove most beneficial to the <br />Commisi ion in general. <br />Mr. Place expressed a desire to attend the Conference. The Commissioners then <br />approved the trip for the attendance at the Conference for one staff member and <br />one Commissioner, with Mr. Williams making the motion, and Mr. Louis second- <br />ing it, 7he total traveling expenditure per person was estimated at $300. <br />Obtainin valuable information and pointers, plus keeping abreast of the times, <br />are only couple of the benefits that will be obtained from this Conference. <br />5. flail AN I&I GUNIB.EXENT <br />Because of the Council's decision at the Budget Hearing of rejecting the addition <br />of an Assistant Planner for the City Plan Commission, in relation to the Com- <br />prehensive Plan, Mr. Sucher brou# out the fact that there would be a necessity <br />for him end /or his Assistant, Mr. Neidigh, to help out Mr. Huff, Plan Director, <br />in meeti g the deadline for the Comprehensive Plan Requirement. <br />There seemed to be no other alternative, Mr. Sucher pointed out, since the addi- <br />tional, staff member was rejected, and the Comprehensive Plan is a "must" before <br />our first project can be given final federal approval. It is due by the end of 1959 <br />and will reauire additional services. <br />Mr. Louis made a motion that Mr. Sucher and Mr. Neidigh give all the possible <br />time and assistance to the Planning Department in working on the Comprehensive <br />Plan, and Mr. Williams seconded same, and all were in favor, with the stipulation <br />that a record of our time be kept that was spent on this project. <br />
