South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting -February 15, 2008 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />C. South Bend Central Development Area <br />(1) continued... <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Downes, seconded by <br />Mr. Blake and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the Certificate of <br />Completion for property located at 105 N. <br />Niles Avenue in the South Bend Central <br />Development Area. (AM General Bldg.) <br />(2) Commission approval requested for <br />Commercial Property Management and <br />Leasing Agreement (CB Richard Ellis) <br />Ms. Jennings noted that this is a property <br />management agreement with CB Richard <br />Ellis. The properties they will manage under <br />the agreement are the Wayne Street Garage <br />retail space, the Leighton Plaza Garage, and <br />the Leighton Plaza Courtyard. The term of <br />the agreement is one year beginning <br />February 1, 2008 and ending January 31, <br />2009 with the option of the Commission to <br />renew for successive one-year periods. CB <br />Richard Ellis has been managing the <br />properties for more than two years. <br />Mr. Peczkowski asked if this type of contract <br />is open to bidding. Might there be others <br />who wish to manage these properties? Mr. <br />Inks responded that CB Richard Ellis has <br />done a fine job for us, but staff recognizes <br />the need to bid the contract. It is staff s <br />intent during 2008 to identify other potential <br />companies that could provide these services <br />and before expiration of this agreement <br />request proposals from all interested parties. <br />Staff agrees we need to keep costs <br />competitive. <br />COMMISSION APPROVED THE CERTIFICATE OF <br />COMPLETION FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 105 N. <br />MILES AVENUE IN THE SOUTH BEND CENTRAL <br />DEVELOPMENT AREA.
