South Side Development Area <br />(1) continued... <br />Durr with Christopher Burke Engineering <br />who made the presentation. <br />Mr. Durr noted that Christopher Burke <br />Engineering was the firm chosen to design <br />the Fellows Street Corridor. The goal of the <br />presentation today is to determine the best <br />solution for the community and to secure <br />Commission's support for that option, or to <br />produce other viable options. <br />Mr. Durr presented the following outline: <br />project design guidelines, background, needs <br />assessment, initial design assessment, <br />corridor selection, roadway selection or <br />section selection, alignment selection, <br />intersection layout, collateral concerns, <br />public involvement and the conclusion. The <br />entire PowerPoint presentation is attached to <br />these minutes. <br />Mr. Varner asked Mr. Durr what he meant <br />when he referenced, repeatedly, a benefit to <br />collateral concerns. Mr. Durr responded that <br />collateral concerns would be such things as <br />pedestrian traffic, adding of sidewalks, multi- <br />use paths, separation of sewers, sanitary <br />storm sewers, addressing existing flooding <br />problems that are occurring on Chippewa and <br />Fellows Sts., several intersection issues <br />where Teri and Chippewa intersect with <br />Fellows, and at the Walter St. intersection. <br />Mr. Varner asked Mr. Durr what he meant by <br />the worse conditions, based on alternative <br />one.
