N <br />To: <br />Mem ers of the Common Council <br />City f South Bend, Indiana <br />From: <br />Sucher <br />Date: 11/7/58 <br />Subject: Supplementary Resolutin-n on <br />Sample Street Project <br />Because of congressional failure to provide new funds for Urban <br />Redevelopment for the current fiscal year, the Urban Renewal <br />Administration has set up a formula based on population for dis- <br />tributing the available $150, 000, 000 to cover as many communities <br />as possible. <br />It was necessary therefore for the South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />to submit a revised application for the Sample Street Area with slightly <br />lowered budget estimates, so that we may be able to obtain approval <br />of this project this year. <br />The enclosed resolution you are being asked to pass simply approves <br />the budget reductions, which by the way will not materially affect the <br />scope or usefulness of the project. <br />If y04 have any questions please call me at CEntral 4 -0535. <br />HS /r <br />
