AGENDA REVIEW SESSION AUGUST 8, 2019 225 <br />Attorney McDaniels explained the EPA thinks lead might be present at this site and wants to test <br />the soil. She noted this amendment is for additional money for a new task of lead testing and <br />reallocation of funding to address the testing. She noted this increase is for $25,000 for the <br />additional work, the new total for the agreement is not to exceed $316,000. <br />PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR <br />A reporter present asked what area the lead testing is being done in. Mr. Gilot stated it is the <br />LaSalle Park area. He explained the city is looking at vacant lots to see if they can be utilized for <br />anything but there is a question of whether lead is present. <br />No other business came before the Board. Martin, Jerk <br />REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 13, 2019 <br />The Regular Meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:34 a.m. on Tuesday, <br />August 13, 2019, by Board President Gary A. Gilot, with Board Members Elizabeth Maradik, <br />Therese Dorau, and Laura O'Sullivan present. Board Member Genevieve Miller was absent. <br />Also present was Board Attorney Clara McDaniels. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Maradik, seconded by Ms. Dorau and carried, the minutes of the <br />Agenda Review Session, Regular Meeting and Claims Meeting of the Board held on July 18, <br />July 23, July 30, and August 6, 2019, were approved. <br />PUBLIC HEARING — NOTICE OF INTENT TO SELF -PERFORM 2019 ANNUAL PAVING <br />PROGRAM <br />Mr. Gilot advised that this was the date set for the Board's Public Hearing regarding the notice of <br />intent for the City to self -perform the 2019 City paving projects. He opened the hearing. In a <br />memo to the Board, Mr. Scott Kreeger, Engineering, stated the cost for the city to perform <br />twenty-six (26) paving and milling projects in 2019 is estimated to exceed $100,000. He noted <br />the project meets the criteria of I.C. 36-1-12-3 that requires the City has the qualified staff and <br />the capability to perform the work, and it is in the best interest of the City to self -perform.
