MZIICGHBOMMOOD RZNEV IL,. <br />PIi AIMI AIM D FIIIL<IIM G 07 .6 PPII..IItCA TIOM FOIR E EDEI AM <br />ADVA fCCm OF FUMMS; <br />W H E R E A S , under Title I of the Housing Act of 1949, as amended, the <br />Housing and Home Finance Administrator is authorized to extend financial as- <br />sistance to localities in the elimination and prevention of the spread of their <br />slums and urban blight through the planning and undertaking of urban renewal <br />projects; and <br />WE E R E A S , under Section 102 (d) of said Title I, the Housing and Home <br />Finance Administrator may make advances of funds for the preparation of <br />General Neighborhood Renewal Plans for urban renewal areas of such scope <br />that the urban renewal activities therein may have to be carried out in stages <br />over a period of not more than ten (10) years; and <br />W <br />South <br />hood R <br />dred E <br />situate <br />and de <br />E R EA S it is desirable and in the public interest that the .0 i ty of <br />nd, Department of Redevelopment prepare such a General Neighbor - <br />eewal Plan presently estimated to cost Eight Thousand and One Hun - <br />lars ($8, 100) in that certain area, proposed as Urban Renewal Area, <br />in the City of South Bend, County of St. Joseph, and State of Indiana, <br />ribed as follows: <br />New York Central Railroad and Washington Avenue on <br />the South, Walnut Street and City Cemetery on the East, <br />Lincolnway West, Fassnacht Avenue and Kenwood Avenue <br />on the North, and Olive Street on the West; and <br />WB E R E A S the above -cited Federal law requires that a Gene r al <br />Neighborhood Renewal Plan conform to the Workable Program of the com- <br />munity , as set forth in Section 101 (c) of said Title I ; and <br />W I E R EA S said Title I also requires that the General Neighborhood <br />Renew� Plan conform to a general plan for the locality as a whole: <br />GN 151 <br />
