I <br />f <br />R�I�S;t@IL.�ff'IPIIQEZFA II� ®.. 7b® <br />JLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION, <br />BODY OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, DEPARTMENT OF <br />ELOPMENT APPROVING UNDERTAKING OF GENERAL NEIGH - <br />BOAHOOD RENEWAL PLAN AND FILING OF APPLICATION FOR FED- <br />ed, <br />L ADVANCE OF FUNDS. <br />W H E R E A S , under Title I of the Housing Act of 1949, as amend- <br />Housing and Home Finance Administrator is authorized to extend <br />cial assistance to localities in the elimination and prevention of the <br />sprelad of their slums and urban blight through the planning and undertak- <br />- ing cif urban renewal projects; and <br />W HER EA S, under Section 102 (d) of Title I, the Housing and <br />Finance Administrator may make advances of funds for the prepa- <br />of General Neighborhood Renewal Plans for urban renewal areas <br />of s4ch scope that the urban renewal activities therein may have to be <br />carrl ed out in stages over a period of not more than ten (10) years; and <br />WHEREAS, it is desirable and in the public interest that the <br />City lof South Bend, Department of Redevelopment prepare such a Gen- <br />eral INeighborhood Renewal Plan presently estimated to cost Six Thou- <br />sand Seven Hundred and Thirty Dollars ($6,730) in that certain area, <br />sed as an Urban Renewal Area, situated in the City of South Bend, <br />of St. Joseph, and State of Indiana, and described as follows: <br />New York Central Railroad and Washington Avenue on <br />the South, Walnut Street and City Cemetery on the East, <br />Lincolnway West, Fassnacht Avenue and Kenwood Avenue <br />on the North, and Olive Street on the West; <br />- 1 - <br />GN 151 <br />
