RESOLUTION NO. 31 <br />LUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT - COMMISSION, <br />BODY OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,- DEPARTMENT <br />OF REDEVELOPMENT, APPROVING THE UNDERTAKING OF SURVEYS <br />AND PLANS FOR THE CHAPIN STREET URBAN RENEWAL PROJECT <br />ON A THREE- FOURTHS CAPITAL GRANT BASIS AND THE FILING <br />OF 'HE REQUEST FOR CONCURRENCE BY THE ADMINISTRATOR IN <br />as <br />is <br />WHEREAS, under Title I of the Housing Act of 1949, <br />mended, the Housing and Home Finance Administrator <br />authorized to extend financial assistance to local <br />public agencies in the elimination and prevention of <br />the spread of their slums and urban blight through the <br />and rtaking of urban renewal projects and <br />WHEREAS, it is desirable and in the public interest <br />that the City of South Bend, Department of Redevelopment <br />prepare surveys and plans, in order to undertake and <br />carry out an urban renewal project on a three - fourths <br />cap'tal grant basis pursuant to Title I in that area <br />as an Urban Renewal Area, situated in the City <br />of 4outh Bend, County of St. Joseph, and State of Indiana, <br />h is described as follows: <br />BEGINNING at the intersection of the northerly <br />right of way line of the New York Central Railroad <br />and the western right of way line of Laurel Street. <br />T 121 <br />
