PROGRESS REPORT (Continued) - -- <br />All people that have moved out of the project area have <br />been contacted regarding debnquent rent and the results <br />have been compiled and action will.be taken in each case. <br />Since the workload is at the present time 24 families, <br />4 singles and 3 commercials, an intensive effort can be <br />made to relocate problem families into standard housing. <br />Mr. Bielicki further reported that.while attending the BOARDED UP <br />NAHRO Conference in Washington, D. C., he had opportu FHA UNITS <br />nity to discuss the boarded up FHA units in the LaSalle LASALLE <br />Park Area with Mr. Showell, FHA Property Management PARK <br />Director. Mr. Showell stated the reason the FHA does DISTRICT <br />not ant to rent the properties in the LaSalle'Park is <br />that they have brought the units..up.to sales standard by <br />spend'ng:approximately $700 on each building. When the <br />origi al.request was made for these properties to be <br />rented and managed by .a local realtor, this had not yet <br />been, one. He stated these properties could be sold to <br />publi housing.at reduced rate. Mr. Williams made a <br />motio .that this information be submitted to the local <br />Housifig Authority over the signature of the president of <br />the Commission. Mr. Koczan seconded the motion. <br />Mr. Baer reported.that condemnation suits have been filed CONDEMNA <br />by his office against the following property owners:.,.. TION SUITS <br />Louis & John Hartman, 2 -6; Arthur Batchelder, 2 -18; Lee <br />- Hawki s, 5 -6, and Mrs. Emilia Bilinski, 11 -10. <br />The Commission authorized Mr. Baer, LPA Counsel, to file SUIT <br />suit against Arthur Townsend, parcel 12 -10, for possess- AGAINST <br />ion and back rental. A TOWNSEND <br />PARCEL 12 -10 <br />The question of collection of delinquent rent'was <br />discussed.
