RESOLUTION NO. 47 <br />RESOLD ON OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT <br />AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION FOR LOAN AND GRANT FOR <br />PROJECT NO. INDIANA R -7. <br />WHEREAS it is necessary and in the public interest that the City <br />of South Bend, Department of Redevelopment avail itself of the finan- <br />cial assistance provided by Title I of the Housing Act of 1949, as <br />amended, to carry out the urban renewal project described as Sample <br />Street Project Indiana R -7 and bounded generally by the New York <br />Central Main Line right -of -way, Scott St., Prairie Ave., Garst St., <br />the east property line of the Wilson Bros. Plant, Kerr St., Catalpa <br />Ave., Sample St., McPherson St., the first alley north of Dunham St., <br />the second alley east of Laurel St., Dunham St. and Chapin St." herein- <br />after referred to as the "Project "; and <br />WHEREAS it is recognized that the Federal contract for such finan- <br />cial a sistance pursuant to said Title I will impose certain obliga- <br />tions nd responsibilities upon the Local Public Agency and will <br />requir among other things: (1) the provision of local grants -in- <br />aid; 2) a feasible method for the relocation of families displaced <br />from t e project area; and (3) other local obligations and responsi- <br />biliti s in connection with the undertaking and carrying out of urban <br />renews projects: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT R=LVED BY THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT <br />COMMISSION OF THLI CSTY OF SOUTH BEND, DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT, <br />That an Application on behalf of the City of South Bend, Department <br />of Redevelopment for a loan under Section 102(a) of ,said Title I in <br />the amount of $2,527,500 and for a Project Capital Grant and a <br />Relocation Grant to the full amount available for undertaking and <br />financing the Project is hereby approved, and that the President is <br />hereby authorized and directed to execute and to file such Application <br />with the Housing and Home Finance Agency, and to provide such addition- <br />al information and to furnish such documents as may be required in <br />behalf of said Agency, and to act as the authorized correspondent <br />of the City of South Bend, Department of Redevelopment. <br />d at the regular meeting of the South Bend Redevelopment <br />Commis ion held on July 19th, 1962, at the office <br />129 W.
