CitV of Rushville WWTIP
UV Disinfection and Chemical Feed Systems, Filters / Rushville, IN
Project Size: $3,600,000 / January 2017 - November 2017
The City of Rushville selected Bowen as the provider and general contractor and
Donohue as the engineer for this guaranteed savings project. A UV disinfection
system, cloth -media filters, and a chemical feed system were added to the
WWTP. The purpose of the upgrades was to replace the existing chlorine
disinfection; add additional filtration post secondary effluent, and phosphorus
removal
Project Challenges:
A variety of design changes occurred from 60% to 100% which created additional
planning, coordination, and cost. The timeline to have the UV disinfection
equipment installed and operational seemed to not be possible based on the
lead time of the equipment. Bowen was able to expedite the lead time of the UV
modules and the equipment arrived much earlier than expected
PROJECT SCOPE
Site Work
* Civil/Concrete Work
Underground Piping
Pre -Engineered Building(s)
0 Equipment Setting
Mechanical/Piping
PROJECT SPECS
0 200 CY concrete
700 CY excavation backfill
3,500 SF formwork
5 tons rebar
300 LF of piping (flanged DI pipe)
Zero Injury
0 Early project completion
0 Outage Work
CONTACT
Bowen Resourceful) Client
Bowen was able to provide effective value engineering alternatives to the Les Day
design that saved direct cost to the owner and days on the schedule.
