RESOLUTION NO. 80 <br />SOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION, <br />VERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, DEPARTMENT <br />REDEVELOPMENT, APPROVING THE UNDERTAKING OF SURVEYS <br />D PLANS FOR AN URBAN RENEWAL PROJECT KNOWN AS THE <br />DUSTRIAL EXPANSION PROJECT AND FILING OF AN APPLICA- <br />WHE EAS, under Title I of the Housing A---t of 1949, as amended <br />(herein referred to as "Title I ") , tile Housing and Hon::: Finance Ad- <br />ministr for is authorized to extend financial assistance to local <br />public agencies in the elimination and prevention of the spread <br />of their slums and urban blight through the planning and under- <br />taking of urban renewal projects; and <br />WHEREAS it is desirable and in the public interest that the <br />City of South Bend, Department of Redevelopment make surveys and <br />prepare plans, -presently estimated to cost approximately THIRTY— <br />SEVEN OU'SJAOM 'SEE. IWMRFD E1CMT5 **ONE -F ** *- -* .. no/3,00 Dollars <br />($_37 331-,.o,00 ), in order to undertake and carry out an urban <br />renewal project of the character contemplated by Section 110(c) of <br />Title I in that a4ea proposed as an Urban Renewal Area, situated <br />in the ity of South Bend, County of St. Joseph, and State of <br />Indiana which is described as follows: <br />BEG NNING at the intersection of the North line of Cotter <br />Street and the East line of Kendall Street; thence South <br />along the East line of Kendall Street a distance of <br />approximately Five Hundred and Seventy Feet (570' +) to the <br />North right -of -way line of the New Jersey, Indiana and <br />Illinois Railroad; thence west along the North right -of- <br />way line of the said railroad a distance approximately of <br />Twelve Hundred and Twenty Feet (1,220' ±) to the W st line <br />of rairie Avenue; thence in a Northeasterly direction <br />alo g the West line of Prairie tivenue a distance approxi- <br />mat ly of Six Hundred and Forty Feet (640' +.) to the North <br />lin of Cotter Street extended; thence East along the <br />Nor :h line of Cotter Street a distance: approximately of <br />Nin Hundred and Thirty Feet (9301st) to the intersection <br />of he East line of Kendall Street, this point of inter - <br />sec ion being the point of beginning. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT <br />COMMISSION: <br />1.
