Beni <br />, r ov <br />urba <br />boun <br />Mair <br />and <br />RESOL <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY O <br />OF REDEVELOPMENT AUTH( <br />AMENDATORY APPLICATION <br />PROJECT INDIANA R - 29 <br />INEREAS it is necessary and in thi <br />Department of Redevelopment, a• <br />ded by Title I of the Housing Act o. <br />i renewal project described as Cha <br />led generally by Western Avenue, <br />Line, and Laurel Street, hereinaf, <br />NO: 130 <br />SOUTH BEND, DEPARTMENT <br />IZING THE FILING OF AN <br />OR LOAN AND GRANT FOR <br />public interest that the City of South <br />ail itself of the financial assistance <br />1949, as amended, to carry out the <br />,in Street Project Indiana R -29 and <br />Cott Street o New York Central <br />ar referred to as the "Project "; <br />WHEREAS it is recognized that the Federal contract for such financial <br />assistance pursuant to said Title I will impose certain obligations and re- <br />spon abilities upon the Local Public Agency and will require among other <br />things: (1) the provision of local grants-in-aid; (2) a feasible method for <br />the relocation of families displaced fro the project area; and (3) other <br />local obligations and responsibilities in connection with the undertaking <br />and carrying out of urban renewal projects, and <br />HEREAS Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the regulations <br />of tha Department of Housing and Urban Development effectuating that title <br />providing that no persons, on the ground of race, color or national origin <br />beexcluded from )articipation in, being denied the benefits of, or be sub- <br />jected to discrimination in the undertaking and carrying out of the urban <br />renewal projects assisted under Title I f the Housing Act of 1949 as amended, <br />and <br />HEREAS the objectives of the Ur an Renewal Plan cannot be achieved <br />thro gh rehabilitation of the project are <br />NO-W, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SOUTH BEND REDE- <br />VELOPMENT COMMISSION, GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND, DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT, That a Revised Application <br />on behalf of the City of South Bend, Department of Redevelopment, for a loan <br />undo Section 102(a) of said Title I in the amount of $1, 429, 701 and;for a <br />Proj c-'- Capital Grant and a Relocation Grant to the full amount available for <br />undertaking and financing the Project is hereby approved, and that the Presi- <br />dent is hereby authorized and directed to execute and to file such Application <br />with the Department of Housing and Urban Development, and to provide such <br />add' Tonal information and to furnish such documents as may be required in <br />beha f of said Agency, and to act as the authorized correspondent of the City <br />of So th Bend, Department of Redevelopment. <br />adopted April 7, 1966. <br />
