RESOLUTION NO. 134 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF BID OF HOWARD F. <br />HARRIS AND BONNIE L. HARRIS FOR LAND IN THE SAMPLE <br />STREET PROJECT, INDIANA R -7. <br />WH REAS, Howard F. Harris and Bonnie L. Harris have submitted a written <br />offer m eting the approved minimum price on Disposal Parcel commonly referred <br />to as N . 5, Sample Street Project, Indiana R -7; and <br />WHEREAS, the South Bend Redevelopment Commission has determined that the <br />acceptance of this bid is in accordance with the approved disposal program <br />for this area; and <br />WHEREAS, the Commission has determined that the redeveloper possesses <br />the qua ifications and financial resources necessary to acquire and develop <br />the lanq in accordance with the Urban Renewal Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, the land to be sold has previously been offered for sale by <br />soliciting sealed bids, with no bids having been received for said property, <br />the Commission therefore considers disposal of said land by negotiation to <br />be the appropriate method of land disposition; and <br />WHEREAS, the offer of 15.5 per square foot, for Parcel No. 5 and for <br />that portion of the alley proposed to be vacated which revert to the owner- <br />ship of the Redevelopment Commission, by Howard F. Harris and Bonnie L. <br />Harris, is satisfactory and is not less than the fair market value for use <br />in accordance with the Urban Renewal Plan, as determined by updating apprai- <br />sal of this area completed on October 14, 1965. <br />offer o <br />the Reg <br />to acqu <br />Disposi <br />Ado <br />held May <br />South Be <br />THEREFORE, THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION accepts the <br />Howard F. Harris and Bonnie L. Harris, subject to the approval of <br />anal IV Office of the Department of Housing and Urban Development, <br />re and redevelop at a price of 15.5 per square foot the designated <br />ion Parcel No. 5, which is known and described as follows: <br />Parcel No. 5 and the West Half of the Alley between Garst <br />Street and Kerr Street in the Inner Belt Industrial Park, <br />a Subdivision in the Southeast and Southwest Quarter of <br />Section 11, and the Northeast Quarter of Section 14, all <br />in Township 37 North, Range 2 East of the Second Principal <br />Meridian, City of South Bend, Indiana, the Plat of which <br />is recorded in Plat Book 21, Page I, in the office of the <br />Recorder of St. Joseph County, and containing 98,333 <br />square feet, more or less. <br />â–ºted at a regular meeting of the South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />19, 1966, at the office of the Commission, 120 West LaSalle Avenue, <br />id, Indiana. <br />
