RUSZKOWSKI, CHIEF OF POLICE <br />Board of Public Works <br />City of South Bend, Indiana <br />Honorable Board Members, <br />July 12, 2019 <br />The South Bend Police Department is requesting Board approval for purchase of a 3D Laser Crime Scene <br />scanner and accessories from Seiler Instrument, in the amount of $59,313.32. The scanner will provide <br />an effective and efficient means of enhancing crime scene investigation capabilities. It will allow <br />investigators to capture data much more precisely than an investigator working by hand and it will do so <br />with fewer people on scene. <br />The purpose of this letter is to request purchase of the scanner under INDOT's quantity purchasing <br />agreement ("QPA") with Seiler as noted here: but i.�� 1u.�.ap1�11r1u��p�w�� . <br />i and as amended here: d.v tt1?`w ,q Is ..irL� t L � � ai � 16 6 ���)!1w�.���� Pricing for <br />the scanner SBPD wants to purchase through Seiler matches the prices found in the contract with INDOT <br />and the State Police. Funding for purchase of the scanner and accessories will come from a Justice <br />Assistance Grant awarded to the City of South Bend and the South Bend Police Department.
