As part of
this effort to upgrade the facility, Secondary Clarifiers, Aeration Basins, and Disinfection facilities
require upgrades to improve the hydraulics and return activated sludge return rates to optimize
treatment capacity.
The engineering scope for the WWTP Secondary and Disinfection Improvement project will address
the following major improvements:
• Final Clarifiers 1-5: Replace sludge mechanism, drive motors, access walkways, isolated
structural improvements, rehabilitate weirs, and replace handrails.
• Aeration Basins 1-4: Replace Pass 1-2 Influent Gates and the drain gates at Aeration Tank 4.
• Aeration Basins 1-4: Extend the length of the Aeration Basin effluent weirs.
• Disinfection Building and Chlorine Contact Tanks: Increase capacity of chlorine and sulfur
dioxide gas systems by adding evaporators, scrubbing equipment, and improvements to
distribution piping.
Please refer to Professional Service Agreement and attachments for full scope of services.
The funding source for the project is Utilities, Wastewater, Engineering Account (641-0630-793-31-
02) and Utilities, Wastewater Engineering Capital Account (642-0630-415-43-66). If there are any
questions regarding the subject project, please contact Al Greek (Ext. 4210) at the Division of Utilities
or Jacob M. Klosinski (Ext. 9496) at the Division of Engineering.
