KENNETH SPELLS THE BEST IN HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS 6�Y�texaas, Dr. Kenneth Spells came to the South Bend Community School Corporation in 2016 after receiving his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from.Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri while working in many administrative positions in school systems in the Midwest; and When Dr. Spells arrived at the South Bend Community School Corporation, there were no "A" Schools. During his tenure as Superintendent,two district schools received"A"grades from the state, and reduced the number of failing schools from fourteen(14)to seven(7); and /exp, The South Bend Community School Corporation's district grade from the state improved from a "D" to a "C", and all high schools in the district received a grade of"C" or better from the state under the leadership of Dr. Spells. Additionally, John Adams High School was named as one (1) of the best high schools in the nation; and C c real, Through the Focus 2018 program, Dr. Spells lead the way in closing or repurposing under- utilized school corporation buildings to use our community's resources as efficiently as possible. The program also included streamlining transportation and creating additional instruction time for elementary students.
