<br />AWARD BID — ONE (1) OR MORE, 2019 OR NEWER, COMBINATION JET
<br />RODDERNACUUM MACHINE WITH CAB AND CHASSIS — SPEC M (SEWER
<br />DEPARTMENT CAPITAL)
<br />Mr. Jeff Hudak, Central Services, advised the Board that on May 28, 2019, bids were received
<br />and opened for the above referenced equipment. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Hudak
<br />recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder
<br />Best Equipment Co., 5550 Poindexter Dr., Indianapolis, Indiana, in the amount of $361,864 for
<br />the Base Bid of $399,864 less trade-in of $38,000. Therefore, Ms. Maradik made a motion that
<br />the recommendation be accepted, and the bid be awarded, and the contract approved as outlined
<br />above. Ms. Dorau seconded the motion, which carried.
<br />AWARD BID — TWO (2) MORE OR LESS, 2019 OR NEWER MID -SIZE EXTENDED CAB
<br />FOUR WHEEL DRIVE PICKUP TRUCK — SPEC 0 (CODE ENFORCEMENT CAPITAL
<br />LEASE)
<br />Mr. Jeff Hudak, Central Services, advised the Board that on June 11, 2019, bids were received
<br />and opened for the above referenced equipment. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Hudak
<br />recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder
<br />Jordan Ford, 609 E. Jefferson Blvd., Mishawaka, IN 46545 in the total amount of $59,668;
<br />$26,499 each plus Alternate Nos. 2 and 4. Therefore, Ms. Maradik made a motion that the
<br />recommendation be accepted, and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Ms. Dorau seconded the
<br />motion, which carried.
<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO REJECT BIDS — MUESSEL GROVE PUBLIC RESTROOM —
<br />PROJECT NO. 118-099 (VPA CAPITAL)
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Ms. Alicia Czarnecki, Engineering, requested permission to
<br />reject all bids for the above referenced project due to exceeding the budget. Therefore, upon a
<br />motion made by Ms. Maradik, seconded by Ms. Dorau and carried, the above request was
<br />approved.
<br />AWARD QUOTATION — CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICE DOOR AND INSTALLATION
<br />(CODE ENFORCEMENT/COIT)
<br />Mr. Adam Parsons, Central Services, advised the Board that on June 11, 2019, quotations were
<br />received and opened for the above referenced project. After reviewing those quotations, Mr.
<br />Parsons recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible
<br />bidder, Brown & Brown General Contractors, Inc., 124 S. Elkhart St., PO Box 487, Wakarusa,
<br />IN 46573, in the amount of $3,148. Therefore, Ms. Maradik made a motion that the
<br />recommendation be accepted, and the quotation be awarded as outlined above. Ms. Dorau
<br />seconded the motion, which carried.
<br />AWARD QUOTATION — HYDRANT FLOW TESTING — PROJECT NO 119-041R (WATER
<br />WORKS PROFESSIONAL SERVICES)
<br />Mr. Charlotte Brach, Engineering, advised the Board that on June 11, 2019, quotations were
<br />received and opened for the above referenced project. After reviewing those quotations, Ms.
<br />Brach recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible
<br />bidder, Shambaugh and Son, LP, 5870 Carbonmill Dr., South Bend, IN 46628, in the amount of
<br />$37,145. Therefore, Ms. Maradik made a motion that the recommendation be accepted, and the
<br />quotation be awarded as outlined above. Ms. Dorau seconded the motion, which carried.
<br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. 6 — HOWARD PARK REDEVELOPMENT AND ST.
<br />LOUIS BLVD. IMPROVEMENTS — PROJECT NO 117-047B (PARK BOND RETIF
<br />REGIONAL CITIES GRANT, AND CUMULATIVE CAPITAL)
<br />Mr. Gilot advised that Mr. Toy Villa, Engineering, has submitted Change Order No. 6 on behalf
<br />of Larson Danielson Construction Company, Inc., 302 Tyler St., LaPorte, Indiana indicating the
<br />contract amount be increased by $89,509.43 for a new contract sum, including this Change
<br />Order, in the amount of $17,997,438.65. Upon a motion made by Ms. Maradik, seconded by Ms.
<br />Dorau and carried, the Change Order was approved.
<br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 — THREE TWENTY AT THE CASCADE — SITE
<br />UTILITIES, DIVISION B — PROJECT NO 118-047D (RWDA TIF
<br />Mr. Gilot advised that Mr. Zach Hurst, Engineering, has submitted Change Order No. 1 on
<br />behalf of Ritschard Bros., Inc., 1204 W. Sample St., South Bend, Indiana, indicating the contract
<br />amount be increased by $2,063.50 for a new contract sum, including this Change Order, in the
