1316 COUNTY -CITY BUILDING
227 W. JEFFERSON BOULEVARD
CITY OF • BEND PETE i, MAYOR
BOARD ♦ ' OF PUBLIC
June 25, 2019
Edwardo Rodriguez
512 S. Walnut
South Bend, IN 46619
PHONE 574/235-9251
FAx 574/235-9171
RE: Alley Vacation — East/West Alley running East from Walnut St. to Dead End at another
Parcel, North of Railroad Tracks and South of Huron St. (Preliminary Review)
Dear Mr. Rodriguez:
The Board of Public Works, at its June 25, 2019, meeting, reviewed comments by the Engineering
Division, Area Plan Commission, Community Investment, Fire Department, Police Department,
and the Street Department.
Per Indiana Code 36-7-3-13, the vacation met all criteria. The Engineering Department stated you
will need to re -install a curb across the existing alley approach if you are not planning to use it as
a driveway. The Board stated if you are using it as a driveway, you must meet the Ordinance for
installing a hard surface. Therefore, the Board of Public Works submitted a favorable
recommendation for the vacation of this alley subject to those requirements.
Please contact Donna Hanson at 574 235-9254 prior to picking up your radius map. You
will need a radius map showing properties within 150' of the proposed vacation for your petition
to the Common Council. Once you pick up the radius map, proceed to the City Clerk's office for
your alley vacation packet.
Sincerely, /
"w
Linda M. Martin, Clerk
GARY A. GILOT GENEVIEVE E.
