RESOLUTION NO. 255 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE RELEASE OF REDEVELOPER'S <br />OBLIGATION FOR MR. ANDERSON JONES FOR LAND IN THE <br />LASALLE PARK URBAN RENEWAL PROJECT, IND. R -57 <br />WHEREAS, the South Bend Redevelopment Commission held a public <br />offe ing of land for sale on April 11, 1968 for certain parcels within <br />the aSalle Park Urban Renewal Project, Ind. R -57, and following said <br />public offering, Mr. Anderson Jones of 312 South Liberty Street bid <br />for larcel No. 15 -17, which bid was accepted by the Redevelopment <br />Corm ssion, and Redevelopment Agreement has been signed for said <br />parc l; and <br />WHEREAS, the South Bend Redevelopment Commission has received a <br />peti ion in writing from Mr. Anderson Jones, dated March 3, 1969, re- <br />questing that his bid for the above - mentioned parcel of land be with- <br />drawn and that he be relieved of all responsibilities for the develop- <br />ment thereof; and that the Redevelopment Agreement be declared null <br />and void, and that the good faith deposit deposited by him be returned <br />to him in full; and <br />WHEREAS, the South Bend Redevelopment Commission has determined <br />that it would be in the best interest of the objectives of the Urban <br />Rene al Plan to approve the withdrawal of the bid by Mr. Anderson <br />Jone for the aforementioned parcel. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the South Bend Redevelopment <br />Commission approves the withdrawal of the bid of Mr. Anderson Jones for <br />Parc 1 No. 15 -17 and further approves relieving Mr. Anderson Jones of <br />all responsibilities as developer for said parcel under the Urban Re- <br />newal Plan; and hereby declares the Redevelopment Agreement executed <br />they fore null and void; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />here )y approves the refund of the good faith deposit made by Mr. Anderson <br />Jones in full. <br />Adopted at a regular meeting of the South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />held on March 7, 1969, at the Office of the Commission, 120 West LaSalle <br />Avenue, Suite 1001, South Bend, Indiana. <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT <br />ATTEST: <br />
