Mr. White�a property owners residing on Indiana.Avenue and Leer Street <br />appeared before the Board and objected to.the route taken by the Indiana Bell Tel.. Co. <br />under permit issued January 10th., 1922 and requested that the Indiana Bell Tel. Co. <br />be asked to go through the alley and guy on'railroad•property. This matter referred <br />to Beaning Pole and wire inspector for investigation. <br />F. J. Anderson City Civil Engineer made the following report, from <br />County Commissioner s meeting he attended Monday February 6th., 1922. <br />That the County Commissioners agreed to put in a new pavement on' <br />Division Street tothe City Limits and the City agrees to set all manhole covers,&curbs <br />to grade also agrees to permit contractors to put waste.dirt on property omed by the <br />City known as the Wond�Turner Tract, the contractor to level said dirt;. 1h.is report <br />was approved of by the Board. <br />D. C. Layton, Street Commissioner appeared before the Board and took <br />up matter of disposing of garhgge. The Board instructed Mr. Layton to take up this <br />matter with parties and see f the garbage can be sold , if so the Board would arrange <br />for bids. <br />D. C. Layton Street Commissioner made the following report on <br />complaints referred to him January 18th., 1922: <br />Complaint about defective sidewalk at 750 Cottage Grove Avenue, <br />Re above menf,ioned*sidewalk is defective to the extent that I Would recommend notiyin <br />e owner and if not a favorable reply obtained to send a; legal notice and require <br />same repaired. D. C. Layton, Street Comm. <br />FILED <br />Feb. •7,1922. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS. <br />- L. B. SLAUGHTER <br />President. <br />Complaint about driveway in 300 block on West side of North Taylor <br />Street. <br />One half of sidewalk is out away by approach of private drive. <br />Suggest standardizing private drive approaches where there is com ination curb and <br />D. C. LAYTON, <br />Street Commissioner. <br />Insurance poicy for the sum of S1 ,250.00 filed by Alex Coquillard <br />in the Girard Fire and Marine Insurance Company for building in. the City Cemetery was <br />approved by the Board. <br />Building Commissioner and City Electrician report for the month of <br />January_1922 filed. <br />Communication received read and placed on file from the Indiana <br />Michigan Electric Company stating the number of lights placed during the 'nth of <br />December 1921. <br />The following permissions granted to the Indiana Bell Telephone <br />Company toset poles and anahors. <br />To set 2 poles in alley between Clyde and Leer Street on eas t side <br />of alley just north of. Calvert Street in line with existing Indiana & Michigan Electric <br />Company poles and to set two anchors on Calvert Street to exisiting poles: All <br />Indiana Bell poles to be removed on Calvert Street from Leer Street to Vernon <br />Street with exception of.1 pole just east of Leer Street, according to corrected blue <br />print. <br />To set one pole at the northwest corner of Leer Street and <br />Indiana Avenue just inside of curb and guyed to the west guy just inside of curb <br />and set one pole at the corner of alley east of Leer Street and one pole between these <br />two poles. <br />To place 3" sewer tile from manhole to west wall of 228 South <br />Lafayette Street a distance of 4 ft. <br />Placing of 4' of sever the in alley between Jefferson Street., <br />and Wayne Street from Indiana Bell Co s manhole to ,Independent Co s. duct run. <br />Placing of 8 ft., of sewer file rrom west side of alley between <br />Jefferson St., and first alley south of wall at the rear of 214 South Lafayette St. <br />APPROVED. <br />Feb . 7,1922. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />L.
