2019 Ambulance User Fee Recommendation: <br /> South Bend Ordinance No. 9887-08 requires the Fire Department to issue an annual <br /> recommendation with regards to ambulance user fees. The current fees set by this ordinance <br /> were calculated from the 2017 Medicare Fee Schedule. The fees are 150% of the allowable <br /> reimbursement set by Medicare. The proposed fees have been calculated using 2019 <br /> allowable rates. <br /> Medicare typically adjusts its fee schedule annually. Most often, this will result in an <br /> increase in reimbursable amounts.
