rRUCWDRIVERINSTITUTE <br />STATEMENT OF WORK <br />CUSTOM MOTOR CARRIER DRIVER TRAINING PROGRAM <br />The primary goal of the offered program is to produce a professional level truck dil The <br />progi am obiectivps for the program oflered are as follows: <br />• Understanding of the trucking industry and the requirements of a truck driver (skills-, personal <br />qualities, including attitudes and health, etc,)- <br />• Major parts and control systems of a tractor -trailer® <br />® Theories regarding safe driving: visual search, comi-nunication, speed management, space <br />management <br />• Basic procodul log -keeping, including hours of service requirements: cargo handling and <br />documentation; vehicle inspection and maintenance. <br />Thoories concerning the execution of basic maneuvers; bacxing, shifting. turning. <br />Understanding of emergency procecll_ires: accident proceck-irus and accideril reportinq, cold <br />weather slarfing, skid CIDWrOl and roGovery. <br />RM <br />Ability to perform basic maneuvers safely® and etficiently, backing, shifting, turning. <br />Ability to perform vehicle inspection and rnainteiiance arid routirie activilles such as coupling <br />and uncoupling. <br />Application of safe driving practices: communication (signaling), Visual search, spood and <br />space marmgeirilent, <br />Willingness to accept responsibility of maintaining physical and tl health. <br />Acceptance of logal and othical responsibility of following government (local, state and <br />federal) regulations (hours of service, speed limits. etc.) <br />Recognilon of a professioral driver's responsibility to develop good public relations by <br />demonstrating courteous, responsible driving. <br />'rlie degil to which any student achieves these objectives is dependent upon their wdlingne.Fss <br />to accept thern as personal g0215. <br />24645 State Road 23 South Bend IN 466 f4 <br />
