<br />We have checked the owners of Property alon� the proposed South Main
<br />St. improvements 4xtending from Indiana Ave. to Ewing venue., and find that there
<br />are 30 resident.f>reeholders;and 18 resident land contract holders on the street.
<br />Of the, 30 freeholders 3 have si ned, the petition.
<br />The remonstrance contains 14 re ident freeholders signatures and 9 land
<br />contract signatur`es. °
<br />There °dare some joint°deeds where the wives did not sign the remonstrance,
<br />but .if the Board wishes.to consider them as opposed to the improvement, the vote
<br />will stand twelve --for and eighteen against the - improvement.
<br />If the -Board wishes to count the se wives for the improvement the vote,
<br />will be sixteen for and fourteen against the improvement.

<br />Property owner by the name of F. V..Mow of 1910 South Michigan Street
<br />appeared befo.re.the Board and complained that no sewer tap was to be _found at 1910
<br />South Michiggaann Street. The Board instructed the City Street Commissioner to have
<br />the Street1 epartment look for sewer.tap at this location and report on same to the
<br />Board ;at next regular meeting.

<br />Be It Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend;
<br />St. Joseph County, State of Indiana, that it is desired and deemed necessary to im-
<br />pprove the roadway of the Sample Street Bridge, the roadway of the Jefferson Street
<br />Bridge, the roadway of the North Michigan Street Bridge and the roadway of the East
<br />Colfax Avenue Bridge over the East Race as -follows, to -wit:
<br />The roadway of the Bridge
<br />shall be resurfaced the material to be used in making said improvement shall,be
<br />Sheet Asphalt, Bitulithic;°Asphaltic concrete or brick , and the foundation shall be
<br />the present ooncrete foundation for the Sample Street Bridge, Jefferson Street Bridge
<br />and the North Michigan Street Bridge and the present brick pavement for the East
<br />Colfax Avenue Bridge over the east Race; all manhole tops and storm water inlets
<br />shall be set.to the proper grade, cement marginal curb shall be constructed where
<br />necessary, all as is more particular)y shown and all in accordance with the plains
<br />profiles and detail drawings nn file in the o ffice of the Department of Public Works
<br />of the City of South Bend, Indiana.
