RESOLUTION NO. 199 . <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF-SOUTH BEND; DEPARTMENT OF <br />REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN AMENDATORY <br />APPLICATION FOR LOAN AND GRANT FOR PROJECT INDIANA R -29 <br />WHEREAS it is necessary and in the public interest that the City of South <br />Bend, Department of Redevelopment, avail itself of the financial assistance <br />provided by Title I of the Housing Act of 1949, as amended, to carry out the <br />urban renewal project described as Chapin Street Project Indiana R -29 and <br />bounded nerally by Western Avenue, Scott Street, New York Central Main Line, <br />and Lau4 Street, herinafter referred to as the "Project "; and <br />assistan <br />responsi <br />things: <br />the relo <br />local ob . <br />carrying <br />the Depa <br />providin <br />excluded <br />to disci <br />projects <br />through <br />NOW <br />Revised A <br />Redevelop <br />of $1,753 <br />full amou <br />approved, <br />execute a <br />Developme <br />documents <br />authorize <br />on Octob <br />Suite 10 <br />,AS it is recognized that the Federal contract for such financial <br />a pursuant to said Title I will impose certain obligations and <br />Lities upon the Local Public Agency and will require among other <br />(1) the provision of local grants -in -aid; (2) a feasible method for <br />ition of families d.;.splaced from the project area; and (3) other <br />Lgations and responsibilities in connection with the undertaking and <br />)ut of urban renewal projects, and <br />AS Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the regulations of <br />ment of Housing and Urban Development effectuating that title <br />that no persons, on the ground of race, color or national origin be <br />rom participation in, being denied the benefits of, or be subjected <br />ination in the undertaking and carrying out of the urban renewal <br />ssisted under Title I of the Housing Act of 1949 as amended, and <br />the objectives of the Urban Renewal Plan cannot be achieved <br />ilitation of the project area: <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION, <br />BODY OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT, That a <br />pplication on behalf of the City of South Bend, Department of <br />ment, for a loan under Section 102(a) of said Title I in the amount <br />,733 and for a Project Capital Grant and a Relocation Grant to the <br />nt available for undertaking and financing the Project is hereby <br />and that the Executive Director is hereby authorized and directed to <br />nd to file such Application with the Department of Housing and Urban <br />nt, and to provide such additional information and to furnish such <br />as may be required in behalf of said Agency, and to act as the <br />3 correspondent of the City of South Bend, Department of Redevelopment <br />ad at a regular meeting of the South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />5, 1967, at the office of the Commission, 120 West LaSalle Avenue, <br />.
