C:° Latt6n Street C°ommiss ione rs, <br />November.30,1920. <br />Honorable Board of PW is Works <br />South Bend, Indiana. �•,e " s <br />Gentlemen: - <br />Some time ago I represented in person to Mr. Elliott, in behalf of Mr. <br />Edward Ebel, , injured employe of the Street Department, the question of payment of <br />some sum by the City of South Bend to this main to aid in his care and sustenance. <br />Mr, Elliott, I appreciate, is a busy man and I offer no word of <br />6ristism for neglect to give this attention heretofore, yet I am at a loss to know <br />:what to report to my clients, in view of .promises made to them several weeks ago <br />that Mr. Elliott and Mr. Slick would be out to see Mr. Ebel, amd make an investi- <br />ge.t ion as to his permanent disability. <br />I believe the case is one 'which desrves some attention by your Board, <br />which, in my judgement, will bring about a payment to Mr. Ebel, if for no other <br />than humanitary reasons. The old man is completely disabled, and has not been <br />out of bed since receiving his injuries. Your records will show that you have <br />stopped payment of his edmepnsat ion, and since that time he has been absolutely <br />neglected. <br />I am wondering If I cannot get the Board to co-operate with me in <br />g iv ing this matter special attention at a early date. <br />Thanking you for your many a ourtes i-s in the past, 2 am, <br />Yours very respectfully, <br />CAR -AH: CHAS A.
