Board met in regular session at 10:00 A.M. All members.present. Communication received from Reginald Brown in regard to disposal of garbage. Same read and placed on file. Pole and wire inspector made 'the following report on the light at Tribune Building at corner of Lafayette and. Colfax Avenue. This lamp past at the northeast cornerof Colfax Avenue and Lafayette Street'should have been reset inside of the new curb when the new sidewalk was being $ut1t. , The Indiana & Michigan Electric Company should be notified to reset this iron lamp post inside of the curb. Clerk instructed to send letter of Mr. Cleveland .of the New York Central Ry. Company kequest in.g that some action be taken on the bu41d ing of a new viaduct over their C. I. & S. Division on Portage Avenue. Clerk instructed to order the Indiana & Michigan Electric Company to lower light at c.ornar of Laurel Street and. Jefferson Street. The following resolution was adopted by the Board. COPY OF VACATION RESOLUTION NO. ' 56. 1(20. Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana,' That it is desirable to vacate the following: an 8 foot alley in Rankert & Eggleston's Sub -Division of a part of lot 4 in Leers Partition Plat to the City of South Bend, Indiana. Described as follows, to -wit: - Beginning at the southwest corner of lot 2 in said Rankert & Eggeslton's Sub -Division; thence westerly along the southerly line of said lot 2---- 43.65 Beet to the southwest corner of said lot 2; thence south parallel with Florins Court 8 feet; thence easterly to the northeast corner of lot 8 in said Rankert & Eggas It on' s S ub--Div is ion; thence north on the :vest line of Flor ine Court 8 feet to the place of beginning.
