Board met in special session at ll:_50 A. M. All members present. <br />Deferred. hearing had on assessment roll and final estimate for <br />grade, curb and walk on Elmer Street from Liniobn Water West to Frederickson Street, <br />under Improvement Resolution No. 727. In the City of 'South Bend, Indiana. <br />In the above matter no furtherremonstrane filed and no remon- <br />strators appeared. Th e Board therefore find that the property assessed in said <br />roll filed y is benefited in said roll is benef fitted in the amount <br />of assessment as xkzxx shown on said roll, and the Board further find. that the, <br />assessment roll filed and the final, estimate allowed <br />should be and the same are hereby in all things, ratified, confirmed and approved. <br />Attorney A. Wolf with Harry Sanders of Sanders & Egbert appeared <br />before the Board in regard to certain switches to their plant and stated that <br />they had taken this matter up with Mr. Martin of the Oliver Chilled Plow Works and <br />he held taken this matter up with. Mr. J. D. Oliver and he did not have time to discus <br />this matter at that time. Mr. Sanders stated to the Board that he would want to <br />'see all railroad switches taken careā‚¬in or Walnut Street before the pavement would <br />be laid. w <br />The following communication filed and approved by the Board. <br />Southern Michigan Railway Company <br />South Bend, Indiana. <br />August 19,1920. <br />Board of Public Works <br />City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />Gentlemen:- <br />Confirming my conversation with Mr. Elliott, Chairman of the Board, <br />I wish to advise that this company has agreed to assume the cost of the curbing <br />which is to be placed just outside of our ties between N©rth Shore Drive and Wakewa <br />Avenue, when north Michigan Street is resurfaced between above named points. <br />This letter may be taken as authority for billing the cost of the curbing <br />which I understand is at the rate of 90 cents per foot, *gainst this Company. <br />Yours very truly, <br />R.
