Plumbers` in acknowledging our bill aga ins t 'them for damage to oub underground <br />conduits ar;d cable on May %th., 1920, the repairs amounting to 025.46 which they refuse <br />, t o pay, <br />The: facts of the .case are that this underground Gable began to fail and the <br />trouble WAs located at a point where Thilman Bros, had done some excavation work and the <br />pavement had been repaired. The trouble was lecat4i in the cable at that point and <br />found t4at the conduit had been broken and the cable injured by a pick or some sharp <br />tool. T#e damage was repaired, the labor amounting to the above mentioned ::'figure, which <br />Thilman Bros. absolutely - refused to recognize. <br />It is my understanding that Thilman Bros. have filed a b and wdth the board, - <br />Of Works guseanteeing the utilities against any such damage caused as herein before mentioned <br />Thilmp Bros'. acknowledged to our representative that they did the damage, but would <br />not pay one cent of it.
