When applied at a rate yielding not more than four (4) <br />parts of polyphosphate as PO4 to each part of iron and <br />manganese, the product shall be capable of holding iron <br />and manganese in solution for no fewer than five (5) <br />days at seventy (70) degrees Fahrenheit in the presence <br />of one-half milligram per liter (0.5 mg/1) free chlorine <br />residual and for no less than twenty-four (24) hours at <br />140 degree F. <br />2. The City reserves the right to run performance tests once <br />a month. <br />3. Any product which, in the City's opinion, does not meet <br />the specified performance requirements or fails to <br />comply with the specifications will be disqualified. <br />D, COVERAGE <br />i. These specifications cover blends of phosphate compounds used to stabilize or <br />sequester soluble iron and manganese in potable water. <br />E. PHYSICAL FORM <br />i. Product shall be a granular form. Powdered material will not be accepted. <br />F. PHYSICAL STANDARDS <br />i. Phosphate blend shall comply with the following physical requirements: <br />1. Color: White <br />2. Solubility: Completely miscible in water <br />3. Percent Phosphate as PO4 Minimum of 80% <br />4. Physical Form: Granular <br />G. CHEMICAL STANDARDS <br />i. Phosphate blend shall contain only NSP approved phosphorous ingredients. <br />ii. No amines or other chelating agents shall be used. <br />iii. Blended phosphate product formulation shall be only sodium salts of <br />phosphate compounds. <br />iv. No potassium salts shall be used. <br />V. Impurities in polyphosphate products shall not exceed the following <br />concentrations: <br />
